Biography:

 

AS MENINASNOIS 4 is the same group as As Meninas, who made a successful visit to the Band On The Wall some years ago. This is contemporary Brazilian music, summery in feel, thanks largely to saxophonist Ingrid Laubrock. Vocalist Monica Vasconcelos has an energetic, garrulous style which can become wearing over long periods, but here it is moderated by the varied repertoire and the elegant contributions of guest guitarist Guinga.
