Lucky Thompson was one of the greatest and most important saxophonist in the history of jazz. Lucky played with everyone from Basie to Miles and is revealed here at the zenith of his musical career, both as a tenor player and on soprano saxophone.

This session for Candid is a remarkable album is a segment of jazz history - the legendary 'lost session' recorded in Paris in 1960.  The album commences with his spoken message, recorded in 1968, describing his dissillusionment with the music music business.
