One of the most innovative exponents of the art of the vibraphone, Philadelphian Walt Dickerson made a dozen or so LPs for various labels in the early 1960's. He did not venture back into the studio again until the mid 1970's, when he record two albums for Masahiko Yuh's WhnyNot label - Tell Us Only the Beautiful Things, and this album, Walt Dickerson 1976.
For many years this album was only available in Japan. It is a wonderful example of Dickerson's post bop, free jazz style and indicative of the type of artist Yuh curated for this label.
Walt Dickerson, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Wilbur Ware, Edgar Bateman Jr.
