Radical, free jazz pianist pioneer, Cecil Taylor's music is often described as ahead of its time. Emerging in the mid 1950s, Taylor developed a percussive approach to the piano, combining it with outstanding technique from his classical training. This recording features performances of alternative takes from the 1960 sessions that produced The World Of Cecil Taylor album. Lyrical, bluesy, and driven by bold improvisation, these recordings are an excellent example of Taylor's early work
