
The great saxophonist Sonny Fortune worked with everyone from Elvin Jones, Charles Mingus and McCoy Tyner. In 1974 he replaced David Liebman in Miles Davis' band, recording 4 albums between 1974-1976. Fortune has recorded for Blue Note, A&M and Atlantic as a band leader.
This 1987 date, featuring Renee Rosnes, Kenny Davis and Ronnie Burrage, was produced by Masahiko Yuh for his WhyNot label.
