
Throughout his long impressive career, award winning Saxophonist Gary Bartz has worked with Charles Mingus’ Jazz Workshop (along side Eric Dolphy and McCoy Tyner,) Max Roach and Abbey Lincoln, Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, and the great Miles Davis, to name a few.
He recorded two live albums for Candid Records in the 1990 - West 42nd Street, and There Goes The Neighborhood. The later here, is a living document of the remarkable musicianship of Bartz. This highly energized performance was recorded live at Birdland, New York in November of 1990. Joined here by another frequent Candid Recording artist, Kenny Barron on piano. With Ray Drummond on bass and Ben Riley on drums.
